Dr. Arkadiusz Sitek – from February 2021, the director of the Sano – Centre for Computational Personalized Medicine. President of the management board and head of a research team. Previously employed at IBM and Philips Research in Cambridge. In 2006-2015, assistant professor in the department of radiology at Harvard Medical School and a physicist at Radiology Departments of Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital. His professional interests are focused on the use of computing in healthcare. He specializes in the application of statistical methods in medicine, medical data visualization, machine learning and artificial intelligence.
THE SCOPE OF THE RESEARCH
As the director of Sano, Dr Sitek oversees and provides guidance about the general direction of Sano research activities. Dr Sitek leads the Health informatics team. His group focuses on a new generation of medical communication and incorporation of AI in medical workflows. New models of information exchange between patients, their families, doctors, and care teams are researched. Intuitive human-computer interfaces for improved understanding of health-related data and AI insights are an important part of the group’s efforts.
