Quantum Cybersecurity and Communications Group
Dr. Marcin Pawłowski obtained his PhD at University of Gdańsk in 2010. Shortly afterwards he was awarded EPSRC scholarship at University of Bristol where he worked as a postdoc. In 2013 he returned to his Alma Mater to start his own team. Currently he is the head of Quantum Cybersecurity and Communications Group at ICTQT. He is also one of the founders of SeQure SpA – a start-up company which builds quantum random number generators.
THE SCOPE OF THE RESEARCH
Quantum Cybersecurity and Communications Group is working on quantum solutions to problems in secure communications and computation. Its main focus is on lowering technological requirements for quantum key distribution and random number generation protocols, especially with regard to critical detection efficiencies. Apart from that the group is doing basic research in areas which have a potential to yield new cryptographic protocols.
