Director of ICTQT. Corresp. member of Polish Acad. Sciences. Started his research of entanglement in 1987. Results: operational entanglement swapping (1993), numerical Bell theorem for q-d-its (2000), Bell inequalities for any number of observers (2001-2), experimental proposals in multiphoton entanglement interferometry (from 1988), studies of quantum reduction of communication complexity (from 2002), secret sharing (1998), etc. Frequent visiting professor at Univ. Innsbruck (1991-1999) and Vienna (1999-2018). FNP & Copernicus Prizes. Assoc. editor of Phys. Rev. A (2016-2019).

THE SCOPE OF THE RESEARCH

Develop theoretical quantum information science of immediate experimental testability as well as to study the fundamental issues like causality, new concepts in theoretical quantum optics, and efficiency of quantum (optical) protocols. Operational translation of the schemes prosed by the other groups of ICTQT. Direct collaboration with experimental teams. New indicators and tests of non-classicality. Theoretical/operational/experimental methods of quantum multiphoton interferometry. Optical implementations of secure data transmission, esp. device independent.
