Piotr obtained his Ph.D. in  physics (with honors) in international cooperation between University Paris VI and University of Twente. His research, directed by Dr. Emmanuelle Lacaze and Prof. Nathalie Katsonis was focused on understanding the relation between geometrical confinement and chirality of molecular systems.

Then, Piotr has gained expertise in organic electronics. First, as a postdoc in the group of Prof. Jeong Weon Wu (Ewha Womans University) and later as a Research Professor in the group of Prof. Chihaya Adachi (Kyushu University). In 2017, Piotr joined the Department of Molecular Physics at Lodz University of Technology and since 2022, he has become a Junior Principal Investigator at the ICRI-BioM.

THE SCOPE OF THE RESEARCH

Development of functional materials based on bio-inspired and stimuli-responsive building blocks. Combining the expertise in surface science and optical methods is aimed at performing cutting-edge research in organic thin films and nanostructures for electronic and sensing applications. Exploiting of properties of materials which originate from the chirality/helicity of molecules/structures will be at focal point of the work of the Nanostructures and Interfaces group.
